PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
Directly supervise a team of employees in the assigned manufacturing area. Responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a combination of technical and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage employees and meet production goals. Ensure that machines are functional, and the production facilities adhere to safety standards. Responsible for managing the daily activities of the Shop Floor Coordinator and ensuring that he/she conforms to the workflow process determined by the Planning & Inventory Manager.
- · Supervising operations within a facility to achieve higher output.
- · Assisting in the recruitment and onboarding of new hires.
- · Ensuring compliance with safety and professional standards within a facility.
- · Organizing, monitoring, and prioritizing tasks to meet production goals.
- · Evaluating various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency.
- · Maintaining communication between employees and senior executives to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
- Ensuring the flow of raw materials and other resources.
- Review schedule and ensure the production plan meets the requirements for on time delivery to the customer.
- · Lead measures to improve the quality, safety, productivity, and delivery of assigned areas.
- · Develop an environment that supports employee involvement, teamwork, and personnel development.
- · Provide regular feedback to employees regarding goals, performance, initiatives, and company programs.
- · Promote employee involvement through delegation of responsibility and accountability at the employee level. Act as a facilitator in group problem solving efforts.
- · Establish, in conjunction with the Operations Manager, cell performance measures that are tracked on a regular basis to insure cell goals support plant and corporate goals.
- · Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Position Qualification Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in operations or engineering preferred or a related discipline or equivalent combination of education and supervisory experience and training.
Experience
Preferred minimum of five years supervisory experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment required prior to entry into position.
Skills + Knowledge
Knowledge of manufacturing tools and equipment. IT skills, especially using data analysis software (ERP system). Excellent organization, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong work ethic. Ability to create and adhere to production processes. Ability to write reports legibly and accurately. Relevant training and certification in industrial production, engineering, or any related field. Knowledge of door hardware to include experience with metal fabrication, is preferred. Proficiency with computers and basic software packages, such as Microsoft Office.
Physical Activities + Demands
Physical demands commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job which requires the ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, climb, and see. The employee is required to lift 25 to 60 pounds rarely and/or 5 to 25 pounds occasionally and/or 1 to 5 pounds frequently and/or under 1 pound continuously from floor to waist and move 1 or 2 feet. Must be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this job.
